Fontaine is an independent contractor who had worked for CIA, Mossad and the KGB at various times.
He was hired by the Black December at their secret facility near Athens as they feared that Frank McBain and Mason Powers has discovered information on the Stormbringer and Thunderbolt.
He promised Farouk Hashish 5000 dollars to take care of Mason Powers.
However he was confronted by Powers in Cairo and tranquilised by a dart with truth serum. Fontaine led him to the terrorist's facility in Athens.
