An archaeologist, member of the Stanton Expedition, who informed Collier Stanton about the existence of the Oracle Stone. He advised Stanton to purchase the Stone from the colonists of Valles Marinaris.
When the colonists denied, he took no part to the massacre, and threatened to inform the authorities of the event, and he was shot. However he survived and spent his life looking for the Stone and Stanton
He discovered that the Stone acts as a conductor between solid matter and the electromagnetic impulses of the brain. Humans however have only been able to generate too little cerebral energy which would operate the Stone on dangerous levels.
He found a way to pass the interlocking Martian mechanism in the caves near the Terraform Corp and built a machine there that would magnify the impulses of his brain and would allow him to use the Stone
